I found that I was more confident in this microteaching although there were a number of things that I still wanted to improve on. Similar to last time, I still seem to struggle with timing. I also found that there was quite a bit of inactive time when I was writing the problem on the board. In a 15 minute lesson, time is important. I think in a typical BC math classroom there will be more flexibility with time. Although it would have been cool if I could have prepared the question behind a projector screen and lifted it up when we were ready for the question.
I think I was also quite proud of my partner and that gave me confidence in this microteaching. I also really enjoyed the puzzle we presented to the students. It would have been nice to have a little bit more time to go over the solution. I also think it would have been interesting to ask students to contribute their thoughts to the answer.
I honestly felt like I learnt a lot from this microlesson and I overall did a good job. I'm looking forward to continue to improve.
