Reflections from First Microteaching

I found that I didn't feel that good after my first micro teaching. There were a number of things that I did not consider. I neglected to think about rearranging the way the chair were placed. I found that it was a little bit awkward the way that people were facing. I also realized that there was a lot of content for a short amount of time and I was pushing myself to through it all. I was also nervous. I think this feeling stems from just the first time I was doing this with my classmates. I have this tendency to be nervous the first time I do almost anything and then when I realize that its not so bad, I am comfortable.

For the next microteaching experience I decided that I will focus on making sure there is enough time for students to practice what they have learnt and for me to close the lesson. I will also try to account for some of the smaller details and maybe consider using a worksheet or aid to help guide my students through the lesson.

One thing that I think did work well was the practice at the end of it. I think that giving students a chance to apply knowledge is quite important.
